  • Are you a youth eager to make a positive impact in your community? Join our Senior Befriending Program and benefit from the mutual learning and influencing between youth volunteers and seniors on social and dining etiquette!

    This Senior Befriending Program aims to bridge the gap between generations by pairing enthusiastic youth volunteers with seniors. This program provides an opportunity for young volunteers and seniors to share their knowledge of table manners and social etiquette, while also fostering meaningful connections and mutual learning.

    This program is brought to you by Youth Corps Development Team @ SHINE, in collaboration with The Humble Home and Lion Befrienders Singapore.

Volunteer Befriender

As a Volunteer Befriender, you will learn senior befriending skills as well as table etiquette, to be well-equipped to interact with the seniors.

Workshop 1 and the Table Etiquette Lesson will equip you with the necessary skills. After which, you will plan for an event for the seniors to facilitate interactions with said seniors for the skills that you have learnt prior (under the supervision of staff).

Kindly ensure that you will be able to make it for all 3 sessions!

Workshop 1

Date and Time: 13/7/2024 (10.30am to 1.30pm)

Location: SHINE Children and Youth Services, Blk 329 Clementi Ave 2, #01-248, Singapore 120329, Activity Hub

Table Etiquette Lesson

Date and Time: 26/7/2024 (3.30pm to 5pm)

Venue: Restaurant, TBC

Actual Befriending with Seniors

Date and Time: 8/8/2024 (3.30pm to 5pm)
