We are Team EPic, a group of Aspirants from the 32nd Cohort of the Youth Corps Leaders Programme! Team EPic will be collaborating with MINDS Towner Gardens to support the MINDS MYG programme, East Point Project.
East Point Project aims to empower persons with intellectual disabilities [PIWDs] through meaningful interactions between clients and volunteer befrienders. Clients are youths ranging from ages 16 to 30 with intellectual disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Down Syndrome. As a volunteer befriender, you will be involved in engagement sessions revolving around 5 themes such as Arts & Crafts, Sports, Sustainability, Gaining Independence, and Nature.
This opportunity is a youth-led initiative, part of the Youth Corps Leaders Programme.
Volunteer Befriender
We are looking for Volunteer Befrienders aged 16 - 35 years old. We have planned various activities that cover different themes which will allow you and our clients to connect and positively impact each other's lives. There will be compulsory training provided for volunteers before the engagement with our clients, and volunteers will be guided throughout the entire volunteering journey.
