    • A Walk to Remember is back again this year in Nov/Dec 2024! 

      Join us as we bring primary school children to the Children's Museum of Singapore and the Civil Defence Heritage Gallery! Guide them through Singapore's heritage, and learn about occupations of the past and its significance in building our nation today.

      Here's your opportunity to create an unforgettable day of heritage adventures that both the children and YOU will remember.

      This is a Youth Corps Singapore Bite-sized Volunteering opportunity. More details about the volunteering opportunity will be relayed via Telegram upon confirmation.

Volunteer Befriender

As an A Walk To Remember Volunteer Befriender:

You will be taking the role of a buddy to 1-2 children. Through a series of fun activities, you will engage with the children and guide them to appreciate Singapore's heritage and the significance of past occupations in shaping our nation today. You are to also ensure the safety and well-being of the children throughout the whole programme. 

Please ensure your commitment to the Event Day:
11 December (Wednesday), 8.30AM – 1PM, at Children's Museum of Singapore (reporting time will be at 8.15AM)
Orientation and Training will be conducted at the start of the volunteering session.

Volunteer Coordinator

As an A Walk To Remember Volunteer Coordinator:

You will be empowered to lead a group of 5 Volunteer Befrienders (VB) and 5 children, creating a positive volunteering experience for them!

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing group movements during activities, ensuring safety and well-being, ensuring smooth running and timely execution of the programme, and liaising with YCS staff for any updates. Importantly, you will be facilitating the narration and storytelling of the programme. 

Please ensure your commitment to the following dates:

1) Compulsory VC Orientation and Training: 21 Nov 2024 (Thursday), 9AM – 12PM, at Children's Museum of Singapore. 
This training will equip you in the areas of 
Volunteer Management, Befriending, Group Facilitation Skills, etc.

2) Event Day: 11 December 2024 (Wednesday), 8.30AM – 1.30PM, at Children's Museum of Singapore (reporting time will be at 8.15AM)

If you are interested to join us as a VC for this event, please note that you will first need to attend a separate training session under the Orientation and Training session so that you are prepared to lead your team.

*Any prior experience in facilitation will be appreciated but not compulsory*
