ABOUT
  • KidsCount is a foundational numeracy programme under Care Corner Singapore that offers academic support for Primary 1 - 3 children who are struggling with mathematics in school. This programme aims to lay a stable foundation in mathematics for such students through fun and engaging activities with peers, boosting confidence whilst maximizing the students’ potentials.

Volunteer Leader

Volunteer Leaders will be involved in the Operations and Administrative matters of the programme. You will be leading a group of Volunteer Befrienders through the different terms and support in the onsite operations of the sessions. 

You will be involved in the following:

  • Parent/Children Management: Oversee parent and children coordination
  • Curriculum Planning: Developing weekly activities
  • Administrative Support: Handling attendance, logistics and feedback surveys
  • Mentor Updates: Providing relevant updates to your Mentor
  • Community and Volunteer Management: Serve as main POC with Community Partners and managing Volunteer Befrienders
  • Guidance/Mentorship: Providing guidance to the volunteer befrienders

Please take note of the following requirements:

  • Age: 17 - 35 years old
  • Able to commit to minimally 1 year from Jan 2025
  • Experience in managing volunteers or similar experience
  • Experience in facilitation
  • Able to attend compulsory sessions

Compulsory Sessions:

  1. Mandatory Onsite Interview - to be booked via a link sent to your email once you have signed up
  2. Rapport Building Session - 18 January 2025 (Saturday), 9.30am - 1pm
  3. Train the Trainers (TOT) - 8 March 2025 (Saturday), timing TBC
  4. Orientation & Training (O&T) - 22 March 2025 (Saturday), timing TBC
  5. Weekly Sessions with Children - Saturdays (Typically first half of the day)

All Volunteer Leaders are to undergo a mandatory onsite interview which will be sent out to you via your email tied to your volunteer.gov.sg account. Kindly ensure your email is updated. Confirmation of the role will be subjected to the results of the interview.

To ensure safety for the children from ComLink families, all KidsCount volunteers will be required to also sign up as a volunteer with MSF and clear a security screening process for suitability to be a child befriender. Do note that the screening process will take 1 month, and we will not be able to accept volunteers who are unable to clear the security screening process. Feel free to approach us if you may have any concerns.
