MENDAKI has introduced two gender-specific Empowerment Programmes at the three Institute of Technical Education (ITE) colleges. They are the Empowerment Programme for Boys (EPB) and the Empowerment Programme for Girls (EPG). Curated especially for first-year ITE students, the programme aims to help students acquire life skills, build confidence and connect students to opportunities to grow their potential.Activities include: competency workshops, team-bonding activities, sharing sessions and matching students to mentors who will guide them in goal setting and motivate students to achieve their aspirations.
Commitment: May 2021 – January 2021Frequency: One face-to face interaction and one online interaction per monthAge criteria: At least 20 years old and above Ratio of mentor to mentee: 1 mentor to 2 menteesTraining: Basic mentoring training under the Youth Mentoring Office will be provided using the Gift-Centred Mentoring methodology. Mentors will also get to attend monthly Community of Practice (CoP) to learn about mentoring best practices

Mentor
Mentors would act as role models, coaches, friends and facilitators.
