Special Needs Cluster is back with Big Brother, Big Sister 4.0 (BBBS 4.0)! BBBS is a regular series of Saturdates where youth volunteers like yourself will plan fun-filled activities and befriend children/teenagers with special needs. Similar to previous rounds, BBBS 4.0 aims to spread awareness of special needs, promote interactions between youth and people with special needs, as well as provide respite care for caregivers while we engage their children. For this fourth run, BBBS 4.0 will be reaching out to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).These Saturdates will take place from August to March 2022. Activities in previous iterations of BBBS include arts and crafts, obstacle courses, shopping simulation and many more. Through BBBS, we hope to spark a connection between our youth volunteers and children with Special Needs. This will enable our youths to develop a greater understanding and awareness of the Special Needs Community. We call out to all like-minded youths to join us and get to know more about our friends in this community! Prior to the Saturdates, there will be a compulsory Orientation & Training (O&T) session on 7 August 2021 via zoom for all volunteers. You will hear from professionals in the Special Needs Community on what to expect and how you can facilitate and plan events for the clients. What are you waiting for? Join us today!
